Redcar care home host array of activities this SeptemberIt has been a busy week at HC-One’s St Peter’s Court care home, in Redcar, as Residents attended a church service and were entertained by some beautiful music.

On 22nd September all Residents were invited to a church service with Kevin Highfield, and this week was all about Harvest Festival, which many of the Residents related to.

The service, which happens every two weeks, involved Residents sharing stories of Harvest when they were younger. This was followed by Communion for those who wanted.

There was also a ‘hymnalong’ after, conducted by Kevin.

There were lots of smiles and singing throughout.  Residents all said ‘thank you’ to Kevin after the service and are looking forward to his return.

One of the Residents said, “I loved the hymns. That was lovely.”

Beverley Kitching, Wellbeing Coordinator, said, “The Residents really enjoyed having the service and are looking forward to more in the future.”

The musical theme continued when the following day professional Harpist Sarah Paterson came to visit.

The Residents of the 67-bed residential and residential dementia care home had a very enjoyable afternoon being entertained by Sarah. There was a lovely singalong to some of her music, and one Resident even got up for a dance.

To accompany the music, Colleagues served prosecco and nibbles.

There were lots of happy smiling faces and everyone was very complimentary and gave a lovely round of applause to show their appreciation.

One of the Residents said, “That was beautiful. When are you coming back?  That made me cry it was so lovely.”

Beverley added, “Such a lovely afternoon which the Residents enjoyed. Everyone wanted to know when Sarah would be coming back for another performance which has already been booked. Sarah is going to return with her fellow tap-dancing girls!”
