As a sequel to the previous news story of the oldest Resident at HC-One’s
Rose Court care home, in Radcliffe, Mrs Dorothy Walsh, who is a great fan of Michael Ball, the home was approached by ITV to do a piece on her with Michael Ball.
Colleagues at the 87-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home were asked to send a photo of Dorothy and then Michael was going to wish her a ‘Happy Birthday’ live on air on 3rd March.
On the morning of the show, there was great excitement in the home, and everyone got ready to watch. Then Michael Ball himself appeared, and he certainly did not disappoint anyone by wishing Dorothy a ‘Happy Birthday’ and going to say he will come and see her at Rose Court on her 100th Birthday!
Dorothy was delighted (see pictured) and now everyone is looking forward to seeing Michael in 2024!
Lucy Ling, Wellbeing Coordinator at Rose Court, commented, “How lovely and generous of Michael Ball to give up his time to make Dorothy so happy. It was so nice to be mentioned on TV and seeing the joy on Dorothy’s face.”
“We are looking forward to meeting Michael Ball next year.”
