Celebrations have taken place at
HC-One’s Rose Court Care Home, in Radcliffe, Manchester, as Home Manager Leanne Batten-Smith marked 20 years working at the care home, progressing from working as a Bank Kitchen Assistant to fully managing the residential, nursing and dementia care home.
On 29th September 2024, Leanne celebrated a milestone career achievement, having worked at Rose Court Care Home for two decades. Leanne's first role at the home was in the kitchen as bank staff. Following that she moved into working in care as a Care Assistant before developing to progress to become a Senior Care Assistant with activities coordination being her second shared job.
Leanne still shows a huge passion for activities to this day and often gets involved with the home’s wellbeing team to create an enhanced activities programme for residents to enjoy.

Leanne then worked her way to become Unit Manager on the residential dementia and nursing community at Rose Court Care Home, called the Nightingale community.
Leanne’s career soon progressed as she took on the role of Deputy Home Manager and then Home Manager when previous Home Manager Karen Davies retired on 20th May 2022. Within her first CQC inspection as Home Manager, Rose Court Care Home received an overall rating of ‘Good’ including ‘Outstanding’ in well-led.
Leanne Batten-Smith, Home Manager at Rose Court Care Home, added:
“I have loved every minute of my 20 years working here! Every day is different and supporting our older generation is an absolute honour that I am proud to be a part of each day.
“I work with the best team of people both within the home and within the wider organisation, Rose Court really is my second family.”
Rose Court held a celebration event with staff and residents, with a presentation to Leanne to present her long service award to her, with gifts, flowers from the home and Area Director, Anthony Byrne, along with a gift card and an additional day’s annual leave from HC-One as part of the recognition.
