Residents at
Greenways Court care home in Consett are getting in the Halloween spirit by creating some spooky pumpkins for their Halloween celebrations.
Maureen, Catherine, Jean and Nora, all Residents at the 51-bed residential and residential dementia care home spent the morning carving some spooky pumpkins.
The Residents decided on some spooky designs and drew them out with markers as a guide for cutting them out. It was lots of fun and very messy, there were pumpkin seeds everywhere.
Maureen, commented, “I was excited to carve the pumpkins as I have only ever done a turnip before.”
Maureen was talking through her pumpkin that she carved, and everyone was laughing- it was so funny! Then Catherine started to talk back, and everyone had he giggles.
It was such a great morning, and the pumpkins are now at the front door of the home.
Jean, said, “It was so funny when they were talking through the pumpkins! I have not laughed so much in a long time.”
Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, remarked, “The ladies had such a fun time carving the pumpkins. Our front door is now looking a little bit spooky!”
