Pumpkin carving at Brompton HouseResidents at HC-One’s Brompton House care home, in Broadway, Worcestershire, decided to get into the Halloween mood and carve some pumpkins.

Everyone involved was very excited and were very happy to get scooping the inside of the pumpkins, using spoons and small buckets.

Karina Kotkowska, Covid Coordinator, remarked, I have spent time with each of the Residents who had a pumpkin; discussing what kind of face they would like. Residents made their own designs, and I tried my best to follow every line.”

Residents loved planning what kind of eyes, nose and mouth their pumpkin should have and everybody wanted one that was unique and looked different to the others.

One of the Residents at the 37-bed residential and nursing care home even wanted ears cut out (which was certainly a challenge!

Everybody had a great time and lots of fun spending time together.

Edith, Pat, Gwen, Rosemary, John and Betty (all pictured) agreed that it was great to get into the Halloween spirit, and they all thoroughly enjoyed making pumpkins and designing the faces.

Karina added, “It was so nice to see Residents so involved and see their smiley faces.”
