Puffing Billy delights Residents as it stops at Peterlee care homeResidents from HC-One’s Grampian Court Care Home in Peterlee, County Durham, were delighted when Puffing Billy pulled into the homes car park adorned with beautiful lights, Santa and Mrs Claus and the elves on board.

Ian Morrell, who runs North East Mobility Warehouse in South Hetton, takes his handcrafted train around the North East to spread Christmas cheer.

Care Assistant Sarah Forster volunteers as one of the elves on Puffing Billy so asked North East Mobility Warehouse if it would be possible to make Grampian Court one of the stops on the Peterlee route, which they kindly agreed to.

Everybody cheered as it pulled into the car park and members of the public joined the Residents and their families to meet Santa, Mrs Claus and the elves. Christmas music was playing from the train and was driven by Pappa Elf.

Everyone at Grampian Court is very grateful that the elves and Santa and Mrs Claus could spare some of their time to visit the home and meet the Residents.

Resident Barbara Hamilton commented:

“Having the elves and Mrs Claus come into the home was magical and it was so nice to see so many families as well as Residents gather outside.”
