Published author visits Residents at Harley Grange care homeResidents at Harley Grange care home in Leicester were delighted to welcome published author Hamish Whiteley.

Whiteley is known for writing the book Growing up with Grandma, which was produced after the author wrote a number of short stories about his boyhood in Huddersfield.

As he visited the home, Whiteley read out a couple of stories to Residents and their Relatives, who loved hearing his stories and even had a little laugh at his younger self’s point of view.

After the stories finished, everyone enjoyed tea and mince pies as they asked Hamish questions about his life as an author.

One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed meeting Hamish as his stories brought back memories of my childhood. We bought copies of his book for our reading club so we could read some more of his stories.”
