As it has been a challenging time for us all, Elstree Court care home took the opportunity to arrange a little something extra for Staff and Residents to enjoy.
Staff organised and prepared for a summer barbecue event outdoors. The garden and tables were decorated to give it an atmosphere for a beautiful sunny day and a range of delicious barbecue food was cooked to perfection. Everything you can guess from a good old barbecue, was present.
It was an excellent day. The Residents were singing, dancing and clapping from their chairs to music. Staff were singing and interacting with the Residents. There were sounds of laughter and smiles on everyone’s faces.
One Elstree Court Colleague observed, “It was so good, that all the food and drink was gone by the end of the day! Even a couple bottles of wine were polished off by the Residents”
When asked if she enjoyed the event, one Resident commented, “We should do this more often it was excellent fun. The food was lovely and delicious”.
Another said, “I loved the music and food”.
Home Manager, Yolanda De Castro, remarked, “It went so well that we will arrange to have another event in the garden. Feedback from the staff and Residents was excellent. All of us deserve some positivity through fun!”
