Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract recently commemorated Remembrance Day with a sombre outdoor ceremony.
Everyone at Priory Gardens marked Remembrance Day with an outdoor ceremony which included an observation of the two minutes silence and ending with the playing of the last post.
Resident Ernest Harrison, who was included in the ceremony, served his Queen and Country and remembered their fallen brothers in an emotional tribute to them.
Ernest Harrison, a Resident at Priory Gardens and veteran said: “The playing of ‘The Last Post’ made me feel very emotional.
Barbara Fish usually attended her local church service, so thanked Colleagues for enabling her to pay tribute to all who had given so much, “it was a wonderful service”, said Barbara.
Allison Gill, Priory Gardens Home Manager said: “How wonderful to be able to mark such an important day together with Residents and staff, which is even more important at this time.”
