Pontefract care home celebrates success in CQC reportHC-One’s Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract, West Yorkshire is celebrating its glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The team at Priory Gardens were delighted to receive an impressive report that rated the home as ‘Good’ in all areas, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for residents. This also shows that the home is Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsible and Well-led.

The inspectors were full of praise for staff at Priory Gardens, highlighting the kind ways in which they provide care for residents at the home.  This sentiment was echoed by residents, who made remarks such as “I’m settled here, I feel at home” and “I can’t fault [the staff]. They have been marvellous.”

The report also commented on the wide variety of activities on offer to Residents both inside the home and in the community, which included pet therapy, dance and music sessions and trips out to local attractions.

Inspectors were also impressed by HC-One’s ‘Stop the Clock’ initiative, which involves staff stopping what they are doing for 15 minutes every day to participate in activities of Residents’ choice.

One staff member said: “Since this initiative has started, we have seen an improvement in both Residents’ and staff morale.”

Tamsin Ryan, Home Manager at Priory Gardens, said: “We are delighted with our CQC report, which is a testament to the hard work and kind care that each and every member of our team puts in, day in day out. It was brilliant to see that our commitment to providing a vast range of activities for Residents was recognised throughout the inspection.”

Stephen Butterworth, Managing Director at HC-One, said: “Priory Garden’s CQC rating is fantastic news. I would like to thank the whole team for their commitment and hard work and congratulate them on such an impressive report.

“At HC-One, we are dedicated to achieving our aim of being the care provider of choice for those looking for the very best care and support, and employer of choice for the best, most professional, and kindest care staff.”
