A ‘Pimp my Zimmer’ initiative has proven a success at Brandon House care home in Coventry for former security guard, Colin.
Colin, who is now a Resident at Brandon House following his career in the security sector, is now at a high risk of falls.
To help encourage him to use his Zimmer frame, and to make it more recognisable, the home has pimped Colin’s Zimmer in a security-related way, with safety tape and a personalised registration plate.
Since the home personalised his Zimmer frame, Colin has grown to really love his Zimmer and has started to use it much more.
Katie Bennett, Wellbeing Coordinator at Brandon House, said: “My main priority is to stop Colin from falling and the Pimp My Zimmer initiative as really helped. We are now planning to do the same for other Residents in the home.”
