Peterlee care home worker offers Colleague lifesaving adviceEmma Hume, Deputy Manager at HC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee, County Durham is being celebrated for her caring and thoughtful concern for her Colleague’s health.

While demonstrating to the team at Grampian Court how to perform blood pressure and heart rate checks on Residents, Emma had concerns about the heart rate reading of fellow Colleague, Jan Taylor. 

Emma expressed her concerns to Jan and offered to continue to take her heart rate readings on a regular basis, when the readings continues to provide abnormal results, Emma advised Jan to visit her doctor. 

Jan took her advice went for tests, which resulted in her having to undergo a procedure to have a stent fitted. The stent can help prevent serious issues for Jan’s health, which she may not have become aware of without the care and concern of Emma.

Emma Hume, Deputy Manager at Grampian Court commented: “I am so happy that Jan was able to receive preventative treatment, at Grampian Court, each and every member of the team cares for both our Residents and fellow Colleagues.”
