Peterlee care home team embarks on weight loss fundraising challengePeterlee care home team embarks on weight loss fundraising challenge

Staff at Grampian Court care home in Peterlee have joined together in a year-long weight loss battle to raise money for the home’s Resident fund.

Each week, each staff member taking part will get weighed and will donate £2.50 into the prize pot each time.

At the end of year, the lady who has lost the much weight will be crowned the ‘Biggest Loser’ and will win half the money donated, with the remaining half being donated to the home’s Resident fund.

One Resident commented: “All of the girls are making a marvellous effort so far. It’s lovely that the money raised will go towards more of our fantastic trips out.”

Kay Rudd, Home Manager at Grampian Court, said: “Our team decided to kick-start 2019 by kicking the bad habits and getting healthier. Residents and staff at the home have been a great support so far, so it’s brilliant that the Residents will benefit at the end of our hard work.”
