Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee have enjoyed making an indoor garden centre to enable them to enjoy a spot of gardening throughout the winter months.
Along with a little help from Colleagues, Residents decorated an area with painted pictures of various flowers, painted ceramic plant pots and planted a variety of plants from seed which have grown beautifully.
Judith, a Resident at Grampian said: “I really enjoy watering and looking after our garden, we all find the garden area very relaxing.”
The ladies at Grampian water the plants on a daily basis and Colleagues re-pot the plants when they outgrow the initial pot. The activity is great for their health, wellbeing and social life.
Grampian Court Home Manager said: “Our Residents look forward to planting new seeds and seeing their old ones grow. The are is fantastic, the whole area looks amazing.”
