Peterlee care home attends New Year’s party at Shotton HallResidents and staff at Grampian Court care home in Peterlee were delighted to attend a party at Shotton Hall to celebrate the New Year.

Upon arrival at the Shotton Hall banqueting suites, staff showed the Residents to their table, which was beautifully dressed with white table linen and fancy crockery.

Everyone enjoyed the entertainment at the party, which included a performance of hits from the 60s and 70s from a fantastic female vocalist.

Following the performance, Residents were served a selection of sandwiches and cakes, along with wine and shandy, before the afternoon’s entertainment commenced. Prize bingo and a tombola were amongst the activities, with Resident David winning a Sudoku DVD game.

Ronald Howden, a Resident at the home, said: “The singer was very good and had a lovely voice.”

Kay Rudd, Home Manager, said: “Our Residents had a lovely time at Shotton Hall. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff and volunteers from Peterlee Town Council and are already looking forward to attending again next year.”
