Peterborough care home enjoys success in CQC reportHC-One’s The Elms Care Home in Whittlesey, Peterborough, is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The team at The Elms was delighted to have received an impressive CQC report that rated the home as “Good” overall, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents and that it is Caring, Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led.

The CQC’s report praised the team at the home for their approach, noting that colleagues are ‘calm, caring and respectful of people's needs’. Interactions between colleagues and Residents were described as ‘kind and caring’, and members of the team were commended for their responsiveness: “staff are really attentive and kind”, said one relative, while one Resident stated, “I trust them. They are like family”.

Residents and relatives had plenty of positive things to say about The Elms. One Resident commented, “I am really happy here. The staff can't do enough for you; they treat me like I'm special”, while one relative stated, “I am happy with the home and feel that the staff who are employed are the right kind of staff which gives me peace of mind.” This positive outlook was shared by colleagues at the home, with one commenting, “I really love it here. It's a lovely friendly place”.
