Penrith care homes join together for Penrith RocksHC-One’s Winters Park Care Home in Penrith, Cumbria, were delighted when Residents from local care home, Croft Avenue, joined them for an afternoon of painting rocks for Penrith Rocks.

Penrith Rocks was started in the summer by a local girl, where school children decorated rocks and strategically placed them around the town for people to find. The idea has even spread internationally with people taking their decorated rocks on holiday with them.

When rocks are found, photos are taken with them and then added to the Facebook page ‘Penrith Rocks’, the stones are then re-hidden for others to find.

This has really taken off in Penrith and now our Residents are getting involved too!

The Residents loved being able to be creative with their rocks and socialise with those from other homes, they found that they had a lot in common.

Pat Errington commented:

“What a lovely idea!”

Susan Thompson. Home Manager at Winters Park, commented:

“It was lovely to have some different faces in the home, our Residents love being able to meet new people.”
