Penrith care home Residents enjoy festive visit from therapy ponyResidents at HC-One’s Cold Springs Park care home in Penrith were surprised with a special visitor on Boxing Day, when Mr Pea, the miniature American pony and his trainer, Katie, from Northallerton came to visit.

Katie, from KL Therapy provides animal therapy visiting hospitals, hospices, schools and care homes across the North of England. Residents were treated to visit from Mr Pea, an 11-year-old miniature pony who is one of the eleven pony team at KL Therapy.

Everyone was eager to meet Mr Pea and asked Katie lots of questions about his diet, characteristics and favourite things, Mr Pea was givens plenty of attention with some Residents asking if he could live with them at Cold Springs Park.

Jackie Johnstone, Home Manager at Cold Springs Park said: “Thank you to Katie from KL Therapy and Mr Pea for surprising our Residents with a visit, it was the perfect end to a wonderful Christmas at Cold Springs Park.”
