Penny Appeal Volunteers serve afternoon tea at Carders CourtOn Monday 5th March Charlotte John and the rest of Team Orange of the Penny Appeal Organisation, visited Hc-One's Carders Court in Rochdale to serve them Afternoon Tea.

The Penny Appeal was set up in 2009 to provide poverty relief across Asia, the Middle East and Africa by offering water solutions, organising mass feedings, supporting orphan care and providing emergency food and medical aid. The Orange team volunteered to visit the Carders Court Residents to help with the afternoon’s activities but also to chat to Residents about the fascinating work they do.

The team served some fabulous refreshments and cakes for Residents and their families, and was joined by vocalist Julianna, who provided the entertainment. Residents had great fun requesting their favourite songs and singing along!

Around 40 people attended the afternoon including Residents, Colleagues and family members and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed themselves.

Karen Wright, Wellbeing Coordinator at HC-One’s Carders Court commented:

“What an enjoyable afternoon! It’s always lovely seeing our Residents have fun and interact with new people.”
