After a social media request, HC-One’s residential, nursing and residential memory care home Market Lavington, in Devizes, has built up a new friendship with another care home situated hundreds of miles away.
A while ago, via HC-One's Facebook page Riaz Ali, Wellbeing Coordinator at Market Lavington, posted a request for pen pals from other HC-One homes for the Residents at Market Lavington.
This morning a bunch of letters arrived from Redmill, a home in East Whitburn, Scotland. Two letters were addressed to Resident Gwendoline Bullock, pictured, and when she received them she was delighted.
Gwendoline is a keen letter writer and enjoys writing and receiving letters from many people and this, she stated, was a lovely and welcome addition to her 'portfolio' of correspondents. She loved the thoughtfulness and willingness of Residents in other care homes to want to write to Residents living at Market Lavington. She commented, “"Oh thank you, this is lovely. And Scotland too! It's nice to write to someone far away to get an idea of where they live.”
Riaz commented, “Thank you Redmill for collaborating with me on this pen pal project!”
