Residents at HC-One’s Highgate, nursing and nursing memory care home, in Uddington have had some fun with a parachute.
At Highgate, Residents are dedicated to becoming more active in the run up to Christmas. The care home has a large colourful parachute, to be used for a fun activity.
Residents sat in chairs in a circle in the lounge. First, Residents worked together and learned how to move the parachute. Residents raised the parachute up and down, then added some balloons to try and keep them in the air. Residents are working on improving their upper body strength.
The Residents liked holding the parachute up as high as they could and going underneath.
Residents had a great time, they listened to music from Jive Bunny and The Mastermixers, songs like ‘Let’s Twist Again’ and ‘See You Later Alligator’.
A Colleague, commented, “Its great to see everyone getting involved and having a great time through exercise.”
Marrion, a Resident, added, “I had a great time and never laughed so much.”
Charlene Curtis, Care Home Manager, said, “Its nice to see the Residents being active.”
