Open Day Fun at Millbrook Care Home On Saturday 23rd June, Millbrook Care Home in Stalybridge opened their doors to the public and held a Summer Fayre. The turnout was fantastic and community spirit was high, with both new and seasoned visitors to the home enjoying themselves.

The event was held on the Patio due to fine weather, offering stalls and a sell-out Tombola. Children enjoyed Rock painting, Hook-a-duck, Face painting and with the glorious weather, a few had a water fight on the lawn!

Local business ‘Heaven Scent’ brought a selection of their bestselling homemade bath and home products to sell, which Residents and visitors enjoyed sampling. We also had a food and drink stall, selling meat and potato hash and a selection of homemade cakes, including beautifully decorated cupcakes, made by one of the carer’s daughters.

Local singer, Shaun Sloan gave a fantastic performance, getting both residents and visitors dancing and kindly picked out the winning ticket for the Younique Make up and Skincare Raffle.

Resident’s daughter Lynne said,

“Dad has really enjoyed himself today”

Abby, Wellbeing Coordinator at the Millbrook Care Centre, commented:

“I am so pleased with the support the Home has received today, lovely to see everyone having fun, we raised a fantastic £186 for our Residents Comfort Fund which will go straight back into providing fun and activities for our Residents.”
