Open day celebrations at Dundee care homeCouncillors, Fraser MacPherson and Richard McCready joined Riverside View care home in Dundee – part of HC-One, the kind care company – to celebrate the seventh annual Care Home Open Day.

Care Home Open Day is a national event that gives local people the opportunity to learn more about the care services at the heart of their community. It focuses on bringing those who live locally into care homes to break down misconceptions, showcase what life is really like in a care home.

The sun was shining over Riverside View, as friends, family and members of the local community came together to celebrate with Residents and members of the team at the home. Some special four-legged guests from Fife Greyhound Rescue also came to spend some time with everyone.

Residents enjoyed browsing the different stalls, which included, a tombola, cakes, bric-a-brac, handmade knitted items and food. Everyone chatted and shared stories in the garden as an entertainer performed classic hits for all to enjoy.

Amanda Burke, Home Manager at Riverside View said: “What a special day for everyone at Riverside View, we appreciated all of the amazing support from the local community, especially Councillors, Fraser MacPherson and Richard McCready.

“We managed to raise over £500 for the Resident’s Comfort Fund which will make a big difference to their lives. Thank you to everyone who attended our event.”
