As the Olympics drew to a close, the Residents at
Oakland residential and residential memory care home, in Rochdale, competed in their own mini tournament.
The ‘Oakland Olympics’ encompassed events such as beanbag shotput, target practise and speedy towel folding.
New Resident Bridget King, pictured, who had only arrived a couple of days before and took gold in the towel folding. She had some stiff opposition but won by a clear margin. Colleagues think the smile on her face tells how pleased she was to receive her medal.
Karen Upton, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was lovely seeing the Residents receive their Olympic medals. I enjoyed watching them have lots of fun!”
