Old Gates care home welcomes Stroke Choir AssociationHC-One’s Old Gates care home were delighted to welcome the Stroke Association to the home recently as they sang to the Residents.

The Stroke Association is an organisation close to many of the Residents’ hearts, so when they arrived in the home to sing, Residents were overjoyed.

The choir consisted of a group of indiviuals who had been affected by a stroke in some way, and they serenaded the home with songs from the 1950s. Residents and their Relatives enjoyed singing along to the music whilst having a dance together.

Residents enjoyed refreshments afterwards as well as a variety of traditional African snacks, whilst they spoke with the choir after their wonderful performance.

Helen Holden, Home Manager, commented: “It was such a beautiful afternoon, it was lovely to see everyone singing along.”
