As the sun began to shine across Nottingham early this May, Colleagues at HC-One’s
Alexandra care home decided to make the most of it and enjoy some gardening with Residents.
On 6th May, after discussing with Residents what to improve in the garden, new barrel planters arrived for the front of the home and Residents couldn't wait to help.
Resident Patricia wanted to take her baby out for some fresh air while choosing which plants would be planted first. Gosia, the homes wellbeing coordinator assisted Patricia with a tray of plants which she then chose from to plant in the garden.
Residents enjoyed getting some fresh air and seeing the new planters fill with colour, which got them really excited for the summer, “oh they are lovely aren’t they,” commented one Resident.
Deputy Manager at Alexandra, Sharon Meeds said: “It is so lovely to see the Residents getting outside again and enjoying some gardening.”
Part of the quiet, residential community of Long Eaton, close to Nottingham, Alexandra is a friendly care home with 40 beds that proudly offers residential, general nursing, and memory care, for those living with dementia.
