Nottingham care home Residents celebrate Burns NightResidents at Acacia care home in Nottingham were delighted to celebrate Burns Night with traditional Scottish food and poetry.

As part of the celebrations of Robert Burns, everyone took their turn to read one of his poems from one of his original poetry books.

The poetry session was followed by Residents enjoying a taste of many traditional Scottish delicacies, including haggis and shortbread.

Sue, a Resident at Acacia, commented: “I really enjoyed Burns Night at the home. I learned a great deal about Scottish culture.”

Noor Khan, Home Manager, said: “At Acacia, we host a range of exciting activities which allow the Residents to explore new things. Everyone really enjoyed learning more about Robert Burns, although the haggis wasn’t to everyone’s taste!”
