Nottingham care home hosts open dayHC-One’s Beeches care home in Nottingham, welcomed the local community to celebrate the sixth annual Care Home Open Day in style on 21st April.

The choirs sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’ at the same time, creating a ‘Big Sing’ that brings HC-One homes across the country together in unison.

The family of HC-One homes across the UK took part in activities throughout the day, with Beeches displaying Resident’s art and craft work for visitors to admire along with live entertainment from local singer Jayne Darling.

The home also had a special surprise in store for long-time Resident, Violet. Violet, originally from Jamaica has lived at Beeches for seven years and Wellbeing Co-ordinator Sarah decided it would be nice to add a homely touch to her bedroom. The home added a lovely poster of a Jamaican beach and flags as features in Violets room for her to admire and remise about her younger days.

Beeches Home Manager, Sara Scott said:

“Thank you to all who came to take part in Care Home Open Day with us. We all had a wonderful time sitting and chatting with our neighbours and seeing Violets face when she saw the new features in her bedroom.”
