Coppice Lodge care home in Arnold, Nottingham, announced a heartwarming initiative celebrating the theme of love in all its forms in honour of Valentine’s Day.
In a touching activity titled
"Love is in the Home," each resident, their loved ones, and the dedicated staff wrote compassionate and caring notes to each other. The notes were then displayed in the shape of a heart and framed for all to read.
The activity allowed residents to reflect on love, exploring its many forms and the ways it can impact a person’s life. From family bonds to friendships, the residents shared their personal thoughts and stories, creating a lasting tribute to love that will be cherished by all.
Brenda Topping, a resident at Coppice Lodge since February 2020, shared her thoughts about the experience:
‘It was absolutely breathtaking, so beautiful. It was inspiring to take part in this.
‘I loved writing my note – being told in writing that someone loves you is just lovely. It’s like receiving a hug.’
Kenneth Buxton, the Home Manager at Coppice Lodge, added,
‘The love heart notes serve as a timeless reminder of the affection and compassion that flourish in our home.
‘This initiative has captured the essence of what makes Coppice Lodge so special: the love that surrounds its residents, staff, and visitors every day.’
