HC-One’s Acomb Court Care Home in Hexham, Northumberland, is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The team at Acomb Court was delighted to have received an impressive CQC report that rated the home as “Good” overall, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents and that it is Caring, Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led.
The CQC praised colleagues at Acomb Court for their caring and attentive manner towards Residents. The report notes that one of the best aspects of the team was their ‘ability to make people feel welcome’, which is also commended in comments from Residents and relatives. One Resident stated that “the staff are all caring, I feel part of a community and not alone”, while one relative commented, “the staff are just lovely. I know they care about [my relative], there's an awful lot of love and support there”. Another relative meanwhile highlighted the “lovely atmosphere” at Acomb Court.
The compassionate approach of colleagues at Acomb Court can also be seen in the comments from members of the team. When describing what they valued most, one nurse at the home stated it was “the compassion and empathy of the staff and their relationship with residents, I love hearing the laughter from the dining room when staff are with residents, if I can put a smile on someone's face once in a day I've done my job.”
