Audrey, Resident at HC-One’s Wombwell Hall care home regularly uses her electric wheelchair to transport herself around the home, until she made the decision to buy herself a new set of wheels in the form of a car.
The car was chosen by Audrey as it enables her to use the ramp to gain entry into the back of the car with her wheelchair, whilst her daughter drives the car itself.
Audrey and her daughter delight in the new car, as they can go on regular weekend trips away together.
The trip Audrey most enjoys going on is to the local shopping centres, as she is able to indulge in her love of shopping with her family.
Catherine Veerigadu, home manager, commented: “Audrey has enjoyed having a new car in her life, it caught me by surprise that she had purchased one, but she is delighted with it.”
