Northallerton care home receives tasty ‘surpies’ from Vale of MowbrayResidents at HC-One’s Leeming Garth care home in Leeming Bar, Northallerton enjoyed a tasty treat when staff from Vale of Mowbray visited the home.

Vale of Mowbray, a local pork pie factory, has been baking pies in Leeming Bar since 1928. Residents at Leeming Garth were delighted to be presented with the opportunity to taste the company’s new selection of pork pies, which are delicately seasoned with an irresistible blend of herbs and spices.

Residents Violet and Aileen spent some time after the visit having some very fun, lively discussions about which were their favorite pies and what suggestions they could make for other pies.

Violet Tutin commented: “These pork pies are famous.”

Aileen Pounder added: “What a lovely surprise. It’s so exciting, I do love a pork pie.”

Vale of Mowbray have also generously offered to donate one of its luxury hampers for the home’s forthcoming Easter event.

Lorna Burn, Leeming Garth Home Manager said: “It was wonderful for our Residents to have a personal visit from the team at Vale of Mowbray. They all thoroughly enjoyed tasting the different pies and finding out about the history of Vale of Mowbray.”
