NHS Rainbow boxes put a smile on Arbroath care home Residents facesResidents at HC-One’s Cairnie Lodge care home in Arbroath recently received their NHS Rainbow boxes, which really lifted the mood in the home and of Residents.

Cairnie Lodge received their NHS Rainbow boxes and 15th October and they were over the moon to finally get their hands on them and see what was inside.

Starting as a social media request for donations by a single member of staff to help combat the effects of isolation on COVID-19 patients she was witnessing, over £15,000 has been raised and the 'Rainbow boxes' charity created with a team supporting wards across NHS Lothian.

Residents at Cairnie Lodge opened their rainbow box and discovered puzzles, books and plentiful supply of arts and crafts items.

Residents Christina Batchelor opened the box on behalf of all Cairnie Lodge Residents and really enjoyed discovering all the new items, “how generous of the NHS,” she said.

Cairnie Lodge Home Manager Heather Mary Sivewright said: “The boxes are greatly appreciated from Tayside Health fund, the Residents will enjoy them, we can't thank them enough for our boxes.”
