Newton Aycliffe care home Residents welcome ‘mini police’Residents from HC-One’s St Clare’s Court in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham enjoyed a visit from the mini police on Wednesday 3rd April.

The mini police is a group of local children who attend St Mary’s Primary School who attend events in the local community and are supported by community police officers.

Residents gathered to greet the children and listened to all of the stories each child had wrote for them, afterwards, the children came together to recite a poem as a group. The group then handed out handmade cards for each Resident, which they enjoyed reading.

Gwen, a Resident at St Clare’s Court and former primary school teacher commented on how impressed she was with the wonderful stories the children wrote. Dorothy, who also worked with children in her younger days said that she always looks forward to the children visiting.
