Newton Aycliffe care home Residents go ten pin bowlingResidents at from Defoe Court, residential and nursing care home, and St Clare’s Court, residential and residential care home, in Newton Aycliffe, went to play some ten pin bolwing last week.

Along with their family members, Residents, Irene, Gordon, Peter and Margaret, went along to Planet Leisure, a local entertainment centre for a few games of ten pin bowling.

The Residents spent time choosing their perfect bowling ball ready for the competition to start.
Gordon and Margaret both got several strikes!

All of the Residents enjoyed a lovely hot drink whilst bowling and chatted about how well each of them were playing.

It was lovely for Residents from both care homes to get together, learn about each other and chat.

One of the Residents, said, “I really enjoyed the social side of the bowling as I was spending time with my family and other Residents from St Clare’s Court.”

Another Resident, added, “I have loved this and it was a nice new experience I would love to do again.”

Lyndsey McMullen, Care Manager, remarked, “I’m extremely lucky to have a team that will come together to make our Residents have the best time.”
