Residents at HC-One’s Defoe Court care home in Newton Aycliffe were delighted to receive a handmade bench as a kind gift from local woodwork company, Endeavour Woodcrafts.
The Ferryhill-based woodcraft firm, which helps train adults with learning and mental health issues in woodwork, arts and life skills, has established a fantastic relationship with Defoe Court over recent years.
With a commitment to helping the local community, Endeavour Woodcrafts have already donated five beautiful bird tables to Defoe Court last year. These have proven popular with Residents at the home, who enjoy sitting outside in the garden in summer months watching birds pass by.
Residents have also been admiring the new bench in the home, as well as the two planters which were donated alongside it.
One Resident commented: “The new bench and planters are absolutely lovely. The donation has made me even more excited to start gardening again in the spring.”
Sarah Todd, Home Manager at Defoe Court, said: “Everyone at the home is so grateful for the donation from Endeavour Woodcrafts. The new garden features will look beautiful outside in the summer months, and it is such kind gestures like this that will make a huge difference to the lives of our Residents.”
