Newark care home hosts heartwarming Easter egg hunt for local childrenHC-One’s Kings Court Care Home in Newark, Nottinghamshire, transformed into a vibrant Easter wonderland as colleagues welcomed local children for a delightful Easter Egg Hunt in its beautifully landscaped garden.

The event brought together eight enthusiastic children, their families, and the home’s residents for a morning filled with joy, sunshine, and community spirit. The care home was adorned with festive Easter decorations, including charming Easter bonnets crafted by residents and a stunning Easter tree displayed in the reception area.

The highlight of the celebration was the egg hunt, where children gleefully searched for hidden treasures in the garden while residents cheered them on from the windows, their faces beaming with delight. The warm spring weather set the perfect stage for this intergenerational event, fostering connections between young and old.

The event was made possible through a partnership with the Newark Family Hub, coordinated by Vicky Briggs-Price, Nottinghamshire County Council Family Hub Community Development Worker. The invitation was shared with local families, resulting in two families joining the fun – one discovering the event through the Family Hub and another via the care home’s Facebook page.

“It’s so nice how places like this have events that are free and fun for the children, especially during the holidays and in this difficult financial economy. It’s a lovely day, and my daughter really enjoyed herself. Thank you so much.”
