The Residents enjoyed a visit from the youngest member of the Hollymere House care home team this week, Dexter the puppy.
For National Dog Day, Hollymere House’s Deputy Manager, Michelle Wooding, brought her puppy Dexter to visit the Residents. Dexter comes to the home often and the Residents are getting used to having a dog about the home.
Dexter thought he would cheer up a few of the Residents.
Pictured top left, you can see he met the oldest resident, 103 year old Elsie.
Jean (pictured bottom left) had returned home from hospital and felt a little out of sorts, five minutes with Dexter and she felt a lot better.
Pam (centre) wasn’t sure if Dexter was a teddy or real until a fuss proved otherwise!
Josie (bottom right) wanted to give Dexter a big kiss and Clive (top right) insisted he didn’t want to miss out on the cuddles and kisses.
One of the wellbeing colleagues commented, “Our Residents love visits from Dexter and they are getting used to him in the home and how much he is growing. Dexter loves visiting his wider family. Dexter visits the home at least once a week, helping him to socialize with the residents and get used to them. He is becoming a large part of the Hollymere team.”
