“My wife is my life” - West Bromwich Residents celebrate Wolves fans 65th wedding anniversaryResidents from HC-One’s Lyndon Hall in West Bromwich have celebrated two of their friends 65th wedding anniversary in the home.

Residing in Lyndon Hall from 2018, Jessie and Mary Davies celebrated 65 years of marriage together and shared their life story with their friends and staff.

The couple met through Jessie’s sister over 70 years ago after he was demobbed from the army after serving in Burma. They courted for 5 years after this before getting married on 2nd March 1954!

Both Jessie and Mary worked in a factory which they really enjoyed and loved spending their free time dancing, having picnics and going to the now closed Dudley Hippodrome. And when it came to the weekend they both loved going to watch their favourite football team, Wolves.

Jessie said: “I’ve had a lovely life” and that his wife “is his life.”

Lyndon Hall Home Manager Julie Hurst said: “Jessie and Mary are inseparable, it brought a tear to my eye seeing Residents spending time together, with Jessie tending to Mary’s need.”
