Musical story-telling is a success at Salford care homeA contemporary take on story-telling was a success for Residents at Barton Brook care home in Eccles, Salford as they enjoyed a performance from Entertaining Minds.

Residents were delighted to discover the tale of ‘The Girl Who Couldn’t Dance’; a short story told and directed with the help of music to help people living with dementia to understand the storyline more easily.

The musical element of the production helps those living with dementia to follow the story more easily, with the actors getting Residents involved with the props.

Once the show came to an end, Residents gave the group a great round of applause, as they commented on how much they enjoyed dressing up and taking an active role in the show.

One Resident commented: “I’ve never seen anything like that before, it was really interesting.”
