MSP Fun for Forfar Home ResidentsHC-One’s Finavon Court Care Home in Forfar, Angus, welcomed local MSP Mairi Gougeon to the home and took the opportunity to celebrate their recent glowing report from the Care Inspectorate.

Mairi was treated to a tour of Finavon Court’s state-of-the-art facilities, and had the opportunity to meet Residents and staff while playing parachute games with balls and balloons, as well as numerous chats over cups of tea.

The visit from Mairi came following the publication of Finavon Court’s latest Care Inspectorate report, which stated that the home is achieving ‘Good’ standards in three areas assessed by the regulator – Care and Support, Environment, and Staffing – as well as ‘Very Good’ standards in the fourth area, Management and Leadership.

The Care Inspectorate’s report observed that staff at Finavon Court ‘work well as a team and were person-centred in their approach’, while the quality of management and leadership at the home was highlighted as an area for particular praise. The ‘Very Good’ grade awarded to the home in this category reflected the attention paid by staff at Finavon Court to supporting improvements in care provision.

The report noted that visitors to Finavon Court described the home as having ‘a warm, calm, secure feel’, which Mairi herself could attest to as she was warmly welcomed by Residents and staff alike for a wonderful day of fun and games to celebrate the home’s success.
