MP visits care home local open dayRory Stewart and Malcom Temple joined HC-One’s Cold Springs Park in Penrith, to celebrate the sixth annual Care Home Open Day on 21st April.

The choirs sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’ at the same time, creating a ‘Big Sing’ that brings HC-One homes across the country together in unison.

To celebrate in style, Rory and Malcom joined the home in celebrating the Queen’s birthday with a tombola stall, face painting, children’s activities, live entertainment from Lakeland Music and a raffle.

The home also welcomed Resident’s loved ones and visitors from local businesses and community groups including the Salvation Army, NHS and Social Services. Cold Springs Park raised £153 which will be donated to the Residents’ fund.

Local MP for the Conservative party, Rory Stewart and Local Councillor for Eden district, Malcom Temple were given a tour of the home and met with Residents and colleagues to see first-hand the kind care being delivered.

Cold Springs Park Home Manager, Dawn Sheehan said:

“Thank you to all who came to take part in Care Home Open Day with us, especially Rory and Malcom. We all had a wonderful time sitting and chatting with our neighbours and celebrating the Queen’s birthday as a community.”
