One colleague at
HC-One’s Sandon House care home, in Mossley, Tameside, completed a walk this month to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity Sarah strives to continually support.
Care assistant, Sarah Plowman, who has worked at the residential and residential dementia care home for three years, completed the Alzheimer's Memory Walk at Heaton Park on Sunday 13th October in memory of her mum and residents at the care home.
This is a charity close to Sarah's heart, as her mum sadly passed away from the disease in 2020 at the age of 70.
Sarah, who is a keen walker in her spare time, completed the walk solo in 1 hour and 15 minutes and raised a staggering £405!
Sarah Plowman, Care Assistant at Sandon House care home, commented:
“This charity means a lot to me. I just want to do what I can to support them and find a cure."
Sarah plans to do this sponsored walk every year.
