Mossley care home hosts Harvest FestivalHC-One’s Sandon care home in Mossley opened its doors to friends, family and members of the community for some seasonal celebrations at the home’s annual Harvest Festival on Friday 27th September. 

Residents were joined by members of the team and visitors for an afternoon of autumnal food and entertainment. The Methodist Church visited Sandon to host a short harvest service followed by a poem recital.

A group of pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School also came to perform seasonal songs and hymns for Residents and guests. Afterwards, everyone came together to enjoy some delicious homemade cake and talk share stories.

The festival was also in support of Silver Sunday, a day in the national calendar dedicated to making older people feel valued and integrated into the community.

Winnifred, a Resident at Sandon commented: “The children were wonderful! I always enjoy it when the children come to visit us.”

Lynne Campbell, Home Manager at Sandon said: “The Harvest Festival is an important day in our calendar when we can encourage community engagement, create new links with our Residents and hopefully form new friendships.”
