Morpeth care home celebrate Christmas with a changeColleagues at HC-One’s Foxton Court care home in Morpeth wanted to make sure Christmas was celebrated properly, despite restrictions, so they came up with some wonderful ideas.

Christmas felt very different this year for Residents at Foxton Court, who usually enjoy a visit from some local performers, including local schools, choirs, churches and much more. Residents also normally go to many Christmas parties, pubs and clubs in the run up but coronavirus has put a stop to these.

However, Colleagues were determined to make Christmas just as special as the last. On Christmas Eve, Residents gathered in the lounge and sang and range of Christmas carols, including ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Once in Royal David’s City’.

Afterwards, Residents enjoyed sipping on a range of beverages, including sherry, baileys and prosecco to name a few. Resident Pat said it was a ‘great service much enjoyed by all.’

On Christmas Morning, Residents had breakfast and then opened all their lovely presents from friends and family. Everyone had great fun looking at all their new things, some items were so beautiful and thoughtful that it brought tears to Resident’s eyes, more so for Resident Billy, who received a very sentimental bear and key ring from his daughter.
