Morning of reminiscence at Ash Grange HC-One’s Ash Grange care home enjoyed a morning filled with reminiscent excitement as Residents received a wicker trunk filled with memories.

Everyone enjoyed going back in time as they opened the box and interacted with the dolls and other items which brought back fond memories, such as tool boxes, aprons, hats and feather boas.

Each item meant Residents could speak of the memories they had of when they were younger, of their careers, lifestyles and hobbies, and this sparked a wonderful discussion between everyone as Residents shared information with one another and spoke of how similar their lives had been.

Anita Horton, Home Manager, commented: “It was lovely to see Residents with such big smiles on their faces when they opened the trunk, the interaction between one another was amazing, and it was so interesting to learn even more about their lives.”
