Moon landing memories at Greenock care home Residents at Merino Court care home in Greenock – part of HC-One, the kind care company – reminisced on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing on 20th July.

The United States' Apollo 11 was the first crewed mission to land on the Moon, which happened on July 20th 1969, Residents at Merino Court celebrated the 50th anniversary with a space-themed quiz and reminiscence session.

Residents shared their personal memories of learning about the moon landing and discussed the historical importance of the event. 

Photographs of the moon landing were passed around as everyone took part in a quiz which included questions about the different planets in the solar system. Everyone also enjoyed a space-themed singalong to songs including ‘fly me to the moon’ and ‘space odyssey’.
