Memory Care Resident brings joy to others through musicHC-One’s Park House Care Home in Guisborough, Cleveland enjoyed an impromptu music morning courtesy of Memory Care Resident who was at the home for a week’s respite.

Tony Roddam was at Park House for respite and as the home was preparing for an activity on Monday morning, he asked if he could play the piano for everyone.

He was slightly shaky as he started playing but soon got into his stride and that was when the most beautiful music rang out across the room.

The other Residents were mesmerised by his playing and asked if they could be a part of the music, using instruments to engage with Tony’s performance.

They picked up the tunes quickly and added percussion to the wonderful music morning. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and loved “being a part of something special”.

When Tony’s wife, Elizabeth, visited the home, the team at Park House told her all about his performance and she commented:

“I am so proud of him!”
