Meadow Bank’s plans for Care Home Open WeekColleagues at Meadow Bank care home, in Preston, which offers residential, nursing and dementia care have been making plans for Care Home Open Week, taking place at the end of the month and consisting of a garden afternoon tea and a cute pets competition.

Care Home Open Week is a little different this year with the activities across the nation taking part over a week, as opposed to just one day as with previous years. It is hosted by Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group with the aim of ensuring public understanding, appreciation, and respect for social care.

On Wednesday 29th June at 2pm Meadow Bank will host a ‘Cute Pets Competition’. This event will be held at the home and there will be judges from the local primary school, Clayton Brook, as well as Kelly from the local ‘Kelly's Groomers’.

There is a fee of £1 per entry and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with rosettes and certificates.

Following on from this, on Friday 1st July an afternoon tea party will be held at the home from 2pm. This will take place in the home’s grounds, with large marquees and a beautiful string quartet organised for the day. An assortment of beverages and food will be served and Colleagues will also be holding a raffle with prizes and vouchers kindly donated from various companies.

Melanie Matthews, Receptionist, commented, “We hope you can come along and join the fun. It is going to be a fantastic week for everyone involved!”
