The Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Myla Arceno, has enjoyed a recent visit to a local care home.
Residents and staff at HC-One’s Woodlands View care home in Poplars, which offers residential, nursing and dementia care, welcomed Councillor Arceno on 22nd February for a coffee morning and relaxing chat.
Councillor Arceno enjoyed a walk around the care home chatting with residents, and also met with care home staff, including laundry and kitchen operatives, to find out more about working in the care sector and the positive experiences of helping elderly people to continue full and varied lifestyles in a care home setting.
Councillor Arceno said of her visit:
“I really enjoy visiting Woodlands View, as it is such a lovely place and there are wonderful staff and residents to chat with.
The kitchen staff even had freshly baked cakes - and they tasted great!”
Miranda Mead, Home Manager of Woodlands View, said:
“We were delighted to welcome Councillor Myla Arceno, Mayor of Stevenage, back to Woodlands View.
Our residents really loved meeting her, while our staff certainly enjoyed discussing their roles. It meant a lot to them to have their work recognised by such a well-respected community figure.”
